Design Concept
The core concept of the project is based on reflection, multiplicity, and self-perception.
The architect’s main intention was to allow visitors to see themselves from multiple angles wherever they stand within the space, creating a heightened sense of awareness, presence, and interaction with the environment.
Mirrors are not merely a material choice in this project; they serve as the primary design tool.
Spatial Organization
The spatial layout revolves around two key elements:
Suspended Ceiling Island
A sculptural, architectural element suspended from the ceiling, acting as a focal point and defining the vertical axis of the space.
Ground Island
Designed in direct dialogue with the ceiling island, reinforcing spatial continuity and establishing a strong visual rhythm between floor and ceiling.
Materials & Detailing
A defining feature of the project is the extensive use of full-height mirrors (3 meters) throughout the boutique. These mirrors are carefully installed with precise detailing to:
Enhance spatial depth
Blur physical boundaries
Create a dynamic and layered visual experience
Slim metal structures, reflective surfaces, and concealed details contribute to the project’s refined and minimalist aesthetic.
Lighting
Lighting is subtle and carefully controlled. Indirect illumination combined with reflective surfaces enhances brightness without visual overload, resulting in a calm, cohesive, and luxurious atmosphere.
Lighting remains supportive, never overpowering the space or the products.
Execution Challenges
Key challenges of the project included:
Installing full-height mirrored surfaces
Controlling reflections to avoid visual chaos
Precise execution of the suspended ceiling island
Managing detailed craftsmanship within an active retail environment
All challenges were resolved through meticulous execution and attention to detail.
